Who we are and what we believe.
What We Believe
We are a Reformed, Bible-believing church, standing on the truths of God's Word and the historic Reformed confessions. We confess the same Christian faith shared by believers throughout history and around the world, recognising the Bible as God's Word and our highest authority.
The Holy Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It teaches us everything we need to know about how God saves his people from their sin and how we must live and worship in response. As the inspired Word of God, the Bible alone is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. We use the English Standard Version (ESV) in our services.
Reformed Theology
We hold to the Reformed belief, which emphasises that salvation is entirely by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. God is sovereign, and the church is a community of believers gathered and upheld by him, with his covenant promises extended to believers and their children.
God-Centred Worship
Our worship is shaped by the Bible and guided by the principle that we worship God as He has directed. The intent of every service is to praise and glorify God; the focus is entirely on him. Central elements of our worship include the preaching of the Word of God, congregational singing, and prayer. We use the Book of Praise — a collection of psalms and hymns — as our song book in worship and the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible for reading.
Creeds and Confessions
Over the centuries, Christians have written creeds and confessions to clearly explain what the Bible teaches and to protect the truth from misunderstanding. Along with many other Christian churches, we affirm the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.
As a Reformed church, we also hold to the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Canons of Dort. While these creeds and confessions are not God's Word themselves, they faithfully summarise the teachings of the Bible and help guide us in our faith and daily lives.

Apostles' Creed
An ancient summary of the Christian faith in three articles: God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Written in 1619, affirming God's sovereign grace in salvation against the errors of Arminianism.
Read the canons →The preaching during the afternoon worship service, while firmly grounded in the Bible, is usually guided by the Heidelberg Catechism, which summarises and explains the teachings of Scripture.
The catechism begins by asking and answering:
What is your only comfort in life and in death?
That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for Him.
